Question:

Bankruptcy by HMRC (court order) - Kerry Katona?

Kerry Katona has been made bankrupt because she has not paid an outstanding tax bill.

However, does this mean she doesnt have ANY money, and officially owes more than she owns, or does it mean that because she owes the money to the HMRC, they have made her bankrupt despite her financial status, because she refuses (or cant) pay what she owes them? Is it the punishment because she hasnt paid the bill, or is it the outcome of having no money?

I ask this because clearly she lives in a big house, has money coming in from her column and the ads???

  1. She hasn't paid her tax bill since 2004 - so eventually this has caught up with her ...

  2. Kerry Katona is a greedy *****.  normal people have to pay tax and most people earn a h**l of a lot less than she does.  She's boasted about her home  and her cars in her magazine column.  She's loaded. but obviously has a very good accountant.  Why anyone chooses to employ the useless woman I can never understand.

  3. Not quite, Mimi...

In the states, at least, two or more creditors can force via petition a business or individual into bankruptcy-they merely have to cooperate with one another.

  4. creative accounting in my opinion

  5. Mimi, do you even know who Kerry Katona is??? FYI shes a celebrity.

  6. A court can not order you to file bankruptcy, you have to file it voluntary. When you file bankruptcy you get a case number and you are assaigned a Trustee. You have to disclose all debt, but a reaffrimation agreement can be signed between the Debtor and the Mortgage company. If she owes you money than you will be disclosed in the bankruptcy and you will receive notice that she filed. Once you get that notice contact the Trustee his/her number and address will be listed on that notice.

And plus it is not nice to use peoples names when dealing with diffucult financial problems, its embarrasing.

  7. They made her bankrupt because she didn't pay her tax dues by the deadline set in court.  She may well have the funds to clear them but she hasn't paid up and it's too late now...
