My grandmother is going to be filing bankruptcy. She is currently the owner of our car and we are the co-owner. We make all the payments. She also has her own car. My question is when she files for bankruptcy can she keep both the cars out esp ours if she shows proof that we pay for it? Would it affect our credit in anyway? We have tried to get a loan to refi the car but can seem to get approved?

  1. Yes you can keep the cars as long as you make sure the lawyer doesn't write them into the bankruptcy and you have been paying on them. It also should not affect your credit.
