Banks in paris?

i am a singaporean student going to study in paris, i would like to ask, which bank/banks are there in paris, local banks?? international banks?

in addition, which banks have the most ATMs around paris?? easy to locate and provide me with bank services!

  1. I can name the following banks that have a good number of branches: HSBC, BNP Paribas, Societe Generale, CIC, Banque Populaire.

    For you I would recommend looking into HSBC, the largest international bank.  With them you can set up an account in Singapore and then have them set one up for you in France.  You can even make transfers between Singapore and France.  

    Downside is that there are some fees, per month, that may not suit you.

    Whatever bank you choose, you'll need proof of legal residence in France (student visa from Passport) and proof of residence (electric bill, or "Attestation de Habitation" from student housing) to open you account, as well as a valid ID (passport)


  2. There are tons of banks and ATMs all over Paris.  You won't have any trouble.  BNP Paribas & HSBC are the two that I can name right away.
