Aston Villa midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barry-Bannan-c7309 insists that the season has now finally started for the club, and is relishing what he believes to be an easy run of games for Villa.
The club has taken on both Manchester giants and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 in a run of three successive games, losing 2 and drawing 1. The Clarets earned a well-deserved point last weekend when Arsenal visited Villa Park, and are now set for a run of games that Bannan believes
are ‘winnable’.
Despite making significant additions to their squad, Aston Villa have not exactly been impressive this season. New boss http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christian-Benteke-c9056, but so far, the team has
failed to manage consistency in the league and lie at 18th place.
This does not paint a pretty picture for Villa, who once used to consistently finish in the top half of the league and used to contend for a Champions League spot every now and then.
Villa can be hopeful of getting some results as they prepare for a busy week ahead with games against Reading and Queens Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314, who are also currently bottom of the league table.
Bannan believes that the next two games are easily winnable, and is targeting two consecutive wins which may help the Clarets move up the league table. Speaking to reporters, the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Scotland-c756 international midfielder said:
“We want to be higher up the table and it is not worked out that way but we are not even halfway through the season. We’ve just played three massive teams in the league and it’s been really tough.”
“We’ve acquitted ourselves well but I think our season starts now with the games we’ve got up and coming. We all know in the changing room that they are winnable games so we are looking forward to the game on Tuesday night.”
“In that changing room we’ve got quality. We’re a bit young but I think we are confident in our own ability."
The midfielder was quick to stress that his team are not taking Reading lightly, and are bracing themselves for a tough encounter as they prepare for the busy week ahead.
