  1. a bannana is a veg it contains seeds  there 4 its a veg

any think with seeds in is classed as a veg like bannana were the seeds run all the way down the lengh of it

  2. Banana being a fruit does NOT contain cholesterol.  It contains phosphorous and is an excellent source of potassium. I don't know where Sheila G gets the idea it is a vegetable because it has seeds. Fruits have seeds. Oranges, apples, pears, plums, papayas, strawberries, raspberries, shall I go on all have seeds.  In actual fact you cannot propagate (grow) bananas from seed, they grow from suckers which come up around the base of a banana tree. Technically the banana tree itself is a herb as it doesn't have a woody stem. But the banana itself although from a herb is the fruit of that herb.

Here is an extract from Ask Oxford.com, when answering whether the banana is a herb or a fruit:

"Both. A banana (the yellow thing you peel and eat) is undoubtedly a fruit (containing the seeds of the plant: see answer regarding tomatoes), though since commercially grown banana plants are sterile, the seeds are reduced to little specks. However, the banana plant, though it is called a 'banana-tree' in popular usage, is technically regarded as a herbaceous plant (or 'herb'), not a tree, because the stem does not contain true woody tissue."

  3. we share 50% of our DNA with bananas.

  4. ok, thanks

  5. potassium,vitamins c, fibres

  6. Botanically speaking the banana plant is the world's biggest *herb*.

    Bananas contain no cholesterol.

But they do contain phosphorus- 22mg per 100g.

Bananas are also a good source of potassium and vitamin C.
