  1. I feel they should be banned while driving . The reason for my disicion is from a traffic ticket I got when i was 17. I was to emotional to drive after a break up from my boyfriend. I got a 175.00 ticket in a 25 zone and i was going 65. Talking on a phone or texting. Need I say more! much love to you.

  2. Use a hands free device to communicate

  3. It is very simple and this is just for teens and yes overall cell phones should be banned.............

Teens claim text messaging and talking on their cell phones is their top distraction while driving in a 2006.

The 2,600 traffic deaths and 330,000 injuries that occurred due to the use of cell phones while driving.

This clearly illustrates that a major problem exists and must be attended to immediately.

The only pro would be in an emergency, you would need to pull off or to the side of the road and then use your cell phone.

  4. Very good idea. They definitely need to be baned. Every idiot I see yapping away on their stupid cell phone is not even paying any attention to their driving. Driving is a full time job. Most people can't drive to begin with. I can't think of one one good reason for a pro side.

  5. I can think of several reasons why they should not be banned.

    1. If someone is following you and you feel threatened, do you want to pull over and stop before calling the police?

    2. If you're lost in a dangerous neighborhood, getting directions from someone on the phone could prove to be a lifesaver. This once happened to my daughter, and her cell phone was the most valuable tool in her car. Stopping would have been the worst thing she could have done.

    3. What if your husband/wife/parent discovered you left your wallet or something equally important behind? Wouldn't it be better if they called and let you know before you got too far?

    4. "Hey, my order just arrived. Stop and pick it up on your way home. That way you won't have to go all the way back."

    5. Suppose you were following a drunk driver and wanted to report it to the police. I would think the police would prefer you kept the car in sight instead of parking to use the phone.

These types of examples are why cell phones should not be banned in vehicles entirely. Sometimes it's necessary to use one while driving. Pulling over and parking isn't always the best option.

  6. If lawmakers are going to ban any use of a cell phone (including handsfree) behind the wheel, they'd better ban radios, CD players and distracting young children in the backseat. All of these things are a distraction that can lead to an accident. Of course, we'd also have to ban radios in all emergency vehicles as well. After all, it's the same thing.

I would like to add that it can be helpful for someone to be giving you directions as you're driving. How is that different from a GPS system?

  7. There are no pro's in using a cell phone whilst driving.

    Hands free only i'm afraid.
