Banning Harry Potter?

Why are people trying to ban harry potter from schools? It's so stupid, it doesn't "promote" witchcraft, its FICTION. It's pretty sad if you dont trust your kids enough to recognize a fake book from a real book.

  1. The way I see it is that the things that are in Harry Potter are exactly like things in the real world only with magic.

  2. I couldn't agree more. The only thing Harry Potter has done in schools is got all the children to LOVE reading!!!!

    !!!!

  3. I think that is the stupidest thing i ever heard. Harry Potter ROCKS!  Religous people r crazy about things like that. HArry Potter is fiction. Best series ever. I hate people who r trying to ban one of the best books and series of the whole world.

  4. People feel that anything promoting witchcraft or wizardly is a form of devil practice and that only people alligned with the Devil would have such powers.

I think it is total nonsense, Harry Potter has been an excellent role model for many people. Anything that can get an 8 year old kid to read a 900 page book is awesome in my book

  5. TOTALLY!

    Harry Potter isn't just about "WitchCraft" ! ! !

There are many other qualities in it that make it a fabulous book.

    1st -  True Bravery

    2nd -  Loyalty

3rd -  Care for others first

4th -  Give up what you want for others

5th -  Cleverness isn't important as friendship and bravery

6th -  Friendship -- it keeps you together throught the  ~toughest of times

7th -  Love is important to everyone and must be received by ~all too

    8th -  Speak the truth

    9th -  Trust your instincts

10th -  Be kind to enemies in bad times, it will end up well ~then

HAH! Those were only TEN reasons why these books rock the WORLD!!!!!!!!! lolz!

    I completely agree with you . . . ! On all parts!!!!!!!!!!

11th -  Trust others . . . you must trust to help them learn!

  6. IT IS A GOOD FANTASSY FOR

    KIDS

  7. LMAO.

    Harry Potter is purely fictional.

    Why bother banning it?

  8. I agree! I'm christian and Harry Potter are my favorite books. I can tell the difference between the 2 though and I'm not going around trying out magic spells. I find it silly but people have their own opinions so who am I to tell them that they're wrong?

  9. They have been banning books for years.  Anything that might "offend" another person gets this treatment.  There are many classics that should be read in schools, but are banned because of one thing or another.  It's just "their" way of trying to please everyone.

I read Harry Potter to my kids...they know it's fiction.

  10. hello. Harry Potter is an enjoyable 'motif' for kids, but he is a WIZARD. totally incredible, and enjoyable. But he is a 'fantasy'. One can only hope the children reading of him, have enough connectedness to fully inform their child of the difference between the two. I read of the LOTR generation when the English church honestly debated if Tolkien could write such a story as he did. good luck parents.

  11. aww. common people. harry Potter is just a fun book. it shows the struggle between good and evil. and how good always prevails.. it is fiction. and people get that.

  12. ITs stupid.  But it wont ever happen so i wouldn't lose sleepover it if i were you.  Theyve been trying to ban it for years and years and have been unsuccessful every time.

parents just want to control their kids lives in any way they can so its not that they cant tell a fiction from non fiction and much as they're just bossy, control freaks.  :)

  13. i knoww! thats ridiculous!!!

  14. I don't know. I'm Christian and I love Harry Potter. No time soon am I gonna try to fly on a broom or try and turn someone into a tea cup. People blow things out of proportion.
