As a moderator of a yahoo group...we have a problem member whom the owner says joined and kept email "private" therefore we have no way of removing her from the group? Is this possible? I thought perhaps she was a member under another name. Either way, is there a way to remove the member? Any info would be appreciated.

  1. Just ban by their screen name.  I have never banned by going to their account in the group.  I simply copy their user name into the Windows clipboard, go to member, click on ban, then paste that into the blank.  Yahoo! will automatically resolve their email address and ban it as well.

  2. As far as I know, you can ban that member too. Here is how you can do that:

  3. A current member with a hidden "private" email address can be banned or removed from a group just like any other member.

Sign in to group and click on "Members" located on left side of screen.

Locate the member you wish to ban.

Click Edit Membership underneath the members name.

Scroll to bottom and click on "Ban Member".  Confirm that you want to Ban Member.

***If you do not see "Edit Membership" underneath members' names, you should adjust your view to "Expanded". Near left top of Members list and underneath "Search Members:", you should see View: Simple | Expanded . Click on Expanded.  Now, follow my instructions as stated above.

  4. in one group I'm in, you can hide the e-mail. those who do all have yahoo ID's as well. you should be able to locate them that way in the members list and remove that way. when you locate that ID, click edit membership- at the very bottom right is a tab- Ban Member- click
