Bansha Mo in the spotlight of the Caffreys National Oaks Final
The only loss that the two-year-old, Bansha Mo, has suffered during the last four outings of the career is the final of the Maurice Jackson Waterford Crystal on 4th September, 2012 at Doncaster over 483 metres. A few days down the month, she is
contesting in another final on Monday, 24th September at Nottingham. She has entered the Caffreys National Oaks Final as the evening’s favourite.
The H. Crapper trained was active in the racing career ever since the last season and was particularly successful in the first half of the current season. There was hardly a race which she would let go off easily. Bansha Mo has raced at multiple race courses
which include Doncaster, Sheffield, Wimbledon, Monmore and Nottingham.
The trip that has truly boosted the chances of Scarty Lad’s daughter for the race tonight was the first heat of the Caffreys National Oaks on 17th September, 2012 at Nottingham over 500 metres.
Taking off from the third trap, the black b***h set into an early pace, and did not compromise on the lead that she established early on. Her dominance almost throughout the trip had her clocking the track distance in 29.60 seconds.
Winning by the highly impressive margin of 6 ¾ lengths, the two-year-old out of, Glory Days, set Miss Slick in the second position.
Two out of the last three successes were initiated from the third trap.
She lost grip on the winning composure on 4th September at Doncaster because of the early pace that she failed to set in. The leading pair, Droopys Hope and Farlow Holly, took advantage of the early speed.
The evening’s favourite will race in an orange jacket due to the fifth draw, she will have Miss Slick on one end and Kittys Pineapple, on the other.
This is the very first time that the black b***h will race from this box, it can work in her favour if she tries to draw clear and cover ground while her inclination of staying towards the rail due to previous draws can get her crowded.
Completing the line-up for the £500 race are Fabulous Athena and Ballymac Floreck.
