Bansha Mo wins The Caffreys Standard Trophy at Nottingham
Bansha Mo sealed the deal at Nottingham greyhound racing track, where she notched up top position to win The Caffreys Standard Trophy after a nail-biting battle with Newmarket Flyway.
With the starting price of 5 to 1, the black b***h ran against Newmarket Flyway, Westferry Kaden, Mays Gold, Yahoo Jamie and Frisby Fontenblu .
It was the most thrilling of all the races that were held at the venue on Monday night. The results of the race were absolutely shocking to the bookmakers, as their hot favourite hound, Yahoo Jamie, sent at 6 to 4, was not able to pose any sort of
threat to the rest of the field.
On the contrary, a non-favourite novice runner, Bansha Mo outclassed all her worthy opponents to seal the second victory of her 3-race career which began on January 10.
The daughter of Scarty Lad and Glory Days had to struggle in the beginning, but she managed to prove her excellent racing skills.
The bookmakers came to realise last night that the triumphant b***h possessed immense potential to fight and win against the big adversaries in the high-stakes events.
When the race started at 21:22, Bansha Mo broke from trap 4. From the very beginning, Bansha Mo and Newmarket Flyway were running neck to neck, shoulder to shoulder.
There came many twists and turns in the race with the two hounds outstripping each other from time to time. When the duo had drawn very close to the finish line, it was hard to guess who would win.
However, Bansha Mo took a long leap and crossed the boundary strap ¾ of a length ahead of her opponent. She took 29.69 seconds to complete the distance.
The victor’s trainer, H. Crapper, was extremely pleased to see his trainee wresting a fabulous triumph by demonstrating excellent fighting spirit. The b***h was whelped in January 2010.
Newmarket Flyway stood second by finishing in 29.75 seconds. After breaking from trap 5, the black dog ran well and fought for victory with vigour, but lagged in the end. He is trained by R Gray.
The third top position went to Westferry Kaden, who trailed by a big margin of 5 lengths. Breaking from trap 1, he bridged the distance in 30.15 seconds.
At the end of the event, Bansha Mo earned £400, while each of the other five hounds bagged £40.
