Bao Yixin, Zhong Qianxin claim Women’s Doubles title in 2012 Li Ning China Masters
Women’s Doubles experts Bao Yixin and Zhong Qianxin showed superb coordination in the grand finale of the Li Ning China Masters and earned the right to be on top of the victory stand on September 16, 2012.
World Number five Chinese pair outshined the compatriot duo Shu Cheng-Yu Luo in this battle of honour.
This game kept both contenders head-to-head for 50 minutes before ending with final result of 21-12 and 21-15.
Though, this match ended in just two games but still the badminton lovers enjoyed a splendid show of playing craft in Changzhou, China.
The top seeded team of the tournament Bao Yixin and Zhong Qianxin made their intentions clear by pocketing the first match point with a notable lead of nine points.
They started the beating from the beginning and kept their rivals at the lower end all the way to final moments.
Initially, they played cautiously which resulted in a tight margin of 5-5 but then both female shuttlers switched on their best and tipped the scale in their favour.
At half time, Bao and Zhong were standing just one step ahead of their competitors with 11-10 score but they accelerated their pace and made a notable difference immediately after the interval.
On the other hand, Shu Cheng-Yu Luo put a below par performance and knelt down tamely in crucial moments.
First sign of trouble came when they lost five valuable points in a row and allowed the opposing team to place 16-10 total. They could not come out of this deficit and surrendered after reading 12-21 score on the board.
There was not much to do for them also in the second set as Bao and Zhong completely dominated the overall pace of the rallies and sealed a splendid win.
The prime Chinese duo mounted pressure by putting 8-2 margin in no time and then magnified the impact with a favourable figure of 11-5.
They unleashed a flurry of power packed strokes in the third quarter of the set and confined the opposing team to the rear court.
Bao and Zhong maintained this flow and smacked their challengers in this title match with a striking knock of 21-15.
