Bao Yixin, Zhong Qianxin stamp their supremacy in first round of Djarum Indonesia Open 2012
China’s female shuttlers Bao Yixin-Zhong Qianxin cleared first hurdle in Women’s Doubles event of Djarum Indonesia Open and ensured their presence in pre quarter-final round on June 13, 2012.
However, they had to compete against Anneke Feinya Agustin-Nitya Krishinda Maheswari for three exhausting sets to read favourable margin of 21-14, 18-21 and 21-16.
World Number nine duo will now lock horns either with Mizuki Fujii-Reika Kakiiwa or Lok Yan Poon-Ying Suet Tse for a quarter-final seat.
Meanwhile, their performance in opening match has raised many questions about their chances in the event as they took 71 minutes in court to oust low ranked opponents.
Bao Yixin and Zhong Qianxin prevailed in beginning, failed in the middle and the managed to sail to the victory in last part of the game.
In first set of the match, they gathered four valuable points in a row and placed an initial lead of 4-0. They magnified the impact by raising this total to 10-4.
At this point they lost focus for short period of time which resulted in 11-7 margin before one-minute break.
However, they got back on track immediately after the interval and dominated five uninterrupted rallies which took them to commanding position of 17-9.
This eight-point advantage turned decisive and they faced hardly any trouble in registering winning figure of 21-14.
There was lot of sensation in following game as both teams played flawless badminton and made this contest memorable.
The game remained on knife’s edge as none of them could establish unassailable lead until game point situation.
In first half, the Chinese were leading initially but the Indonesian accelerated their pace and placed a decent total of 11-8.
Feinya Agustin and Krishinda Maheswari maintained this upper hand despite of a strong opposition and levelled match score with a respectable difference in 21-18.
Third and final set was supposed to be a neck and neck contest but it turned one-sided affair after first half.
Bao Yixin and Zhong Qianxin gained slight edge in 11-10 score and then made best out of it by grabbing four back-to-back points immediately after the break.
They played with authoritative approach in last moments and wrapped the show with 21-16 margin on the board.
