The injury hit striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Julio-c19950 Baptista, is anticipating getting back to action for Malaga CF within the next three weeks as he was sidelined for more than a year.
The last time Baptista featured for Malaga was the 3-2 win over http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Getafe-CF-c39419 in October 2011. Since then the player has had several injuries.
Last summer, he picked up a torn Achilles tendon in training and he had to go through an operation.
The striker has revealed that he never lost hope and is sure that he will return to playing the game he loves as soon as possible.
“I hope to be able to come back at the end of November or early December,”
The former Real Madrid man has stated that his recovery has been going on smoothly since his operation. He is now training and doing all the physical activities that are required of him.
However, he added all he needs now is more training and playing time.
“It’s now been four months of recuperation since my operation and we are more or less where the doctor said I would be.”
Baptista conceded that he has been away from the game for quite some time now and admits that he needs to step up to the level that is required to play in the Primera Division.
“After so much time I need to get up to the level to be able to play in La Liga but I’m going to do everything I can.”
The 31-year-old also revealed that he gained some weight since he was away from the game. He also claimed that he lost the weight and is not afraid of going through the same injury crises he has experienced.
“I’ve lost the weight I gained after more than a year without playing and I honestly have no fear of the injuries flaring up again.”
Finally, the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 F.C man commented on his return to the training ground and said that it was his happiest moment.
“My happiest day was when I returned to training and playing.”
Malaga’s form in the domestic league has fallen. Their back-to back home defeats mean they still sit 5th on the table.
