Bar De Ligne to bounce back into form in the M W Entertainments Novices’ Hurdle at Market Rasen on 11th March
The Class 4 M W Entertainments Novices’ Hurdle is to get hosted by Market Rasen over two miles and three furlongs on Sunday, 11th March. The event has drawn eight runners like a magnet to itself as if offers a £2, 599 purse to the four-year or
older thoroughbred who wins.
Bar De Ligne, Martaline’s six-year-old bay gelding out of mare Treekle Toffee, is trained by Steve Gollings. He is the only gelding on the lineup who has already recorded his seasonal debut victory.
Bar De Ligne won the Watch Racing UK On Sky Channel 432 Novices’ Hurdle on 22nd January at Market Rasen Result over two miles and three furlongs. The 5/4 joint favourite was ridden by Brian Hughes and led the field of eleven by seven lengths.
The runner up of the race was the other joint favourite, Cross Of Honour who was paired up with Paddy Brennan and finishing the race third behind the winner was Leader Of The Gang.
The six-year-old ventured out for his next race nearly a month later in the Betfred Double Delight Novices’ Hurdle on 25th February at Newcastle Result over two miles and six furlongs. Bar De Ligne was entered as a 9/4 favourite for the race but
could not live up to the expectations as he could only manage the seventh position on the field of nine.
The outcome of the race came as more of a disappointment because a failure so grave was the least bit expected. However, one unfortunate stumble does not make his third start of the season hopeless. He might just be in the mood to bounce back on the field
full force.
Amtired and Victor Leudorum are the two entries who have sustained their rankings to second positions since the last two starts of the new season. Neither has posted their seasonal victories and that just might be their plan for today’s race. Bar De Ligne
will need to look out for these two specifically because the yearning for victory might as well lead to either one racing through the line before Bar De Ligne himself.
The rest of the lineup seems to be pretty harmless thus some sincere effort and hard work will put Bar De Ligne into the spot from where he began the new season.
