Bar/Nightclubs in Bangkok Thailand where other young tourists hang out

Planing a trip to Thailand later this year and was wondering if anyone knew of any bar/nightclubs in Bangkok were youth/backpackers hang out as I am keen to meet other people traveling and hear of their experiences.

Depends what u want

there are lots of bar and clubs in Nana street for youth

but they are average and just places

go to places which u wont see any other place like

go to the  classy prestigious place,  u have to go to Banyan Tree    where they have sky bar on the 61 floor or pier on the 59 floor..

Others go to Diplomat Bar in Conrad and it is so so good.

Sheraton Nana also has night club which is heaven

most of the young backpacker hang around in Kaosan road the pub call Gilligan Tavern ,you can find them there or Nana place

Backpacker scene is definitely at Khaosan Road - but I would not go anywhere near it.

Patpong has a bunch of bars - just watch your wallet and don't do any shopping at the night market there.

Nana Plaza (Sukhumvit and Soi 4) has a bunch of go-go bars.

Soi Cowboy (Off Sukhumvit Road and Soi 21) has a street with about 20-25 bars that most tourists never get to.

Smartest thing to do is to skip Bangkok altogether and head straight from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Pattaya.  You will be there in about 1 1/2 hours and have lot more fun for a lot less money than in Bangkok.

If you want to meet another backpacker I recommend Khaosan road. People are more open there and more kind of back pack. You are the kind of traveller i am so..go hang around khaosan road. Find reggae bar. or go to my friend's bar we play live music and another bar open Psytrance.

Or just buy a beer in 7/11 walk on Khaosan road finding people who sit on sidewalk (i did all the time ) with my guitar then you can just go talk to them , they are friendly..make sure you not bumping into Flashy dresses people they might be something Else!.
