Yes there is a bar code. So what? Almost everything has a bar code these days. They use it for tracking the vehicle in and from the factory and expediting the vehicle history when it comes in for service. In the near future the dealer will not ask you for your VIN number when you have your car serviced. They will just scan your bar code and their computer will generate a work order for your car.
