  1. Because this is America, not South Africa, or Brazil.  In the eyes of racist America you are either black, white, hispanic, native american, or pacific islander.

  2. Dont blame him...the media gave him that title

  3. I guess when he first started campaigning in the Democratic primaries, his supporters thought people would be more likely to vote to make someone "the first black president" than the "first mixed president".

  4. Because people only look at the color of the skin.  there are many, MANY, racist people that don't want to vote for Obama because he is black (even half black..) it shouldn't make a difference though because if they would just base their judgments on his views rather than the color of his skin, they would realize that he is the best, and only, person to run our country.

  5. You are wrong.  Obama rarely talks about his ethnicity.  He sometimes talks about his family but that isn't the same thing, is it?

Why do I think this is yet another bogus post?

  6. american only sees black and white. No gray area here

  7. *Obama* chooses to be identified as black. He said so, himself.

  8. Probably because historically speaking in America, if someone was biracial with one of the races being black, then they were just referred to as black.  It's a precedent set by our own bigotry.

  9. he wants the best of both worlds.

    Supporting multiracial whiteness.

    1. Barack Obama is a liar if there ever was one. He grew up with Whites and discovered his "blackness" when he decided to enter politics in college. It's all a political ploy.

    2. THe majority of Americans DO NOT believe he is black, they believe he is biracial. See for yourself:

BBSNews - Obama and 'one drop of non-white blood'

    bbsnews.net/article.php/20061222014017...

    3. DO NOT RAISE YOUR KID AS BIRACIAL, unless you plan to immerse him in Black culture and make him part of the black community. ANd why would you want to do that, seeing as how, oh, I dunno, 85% of Americans aren't Black, and neither are most of his future neighbors and spouses. RAISE HIM AS WHITE.

Unless you don't think he's good enough because he's not racially pure? And I know you don't think that. So why the opposition?

You don't have to identify as Biracial just because you are mixed-race. You can be multiracial White. Don't listen to the racists.

  11. I know right??....you can blame rationalization for that one...IM mixed...even tho most of the time people ask me what I am....I notice that when I tell a white person that I am black AND white (Not one or the other) They tend to throw me into the "black category" and then once a black person hears that Im white...they throw me into the "white category".......when really, I think, I should be in the "other" category.
