  1. In the Hadeeth the Prophet said "from amongst the Jews there shall be 71 sect, 72 sects from the Christians and 73 sects form Islam, and all these sects are destined for the h**l fire except those that follow me" Sunnis

You shall come across many, if you follow the Quran and the Sunna of the Prophet you cant go wrong.

  2. Barailwiyyah, History & Aqeedah

The Aqaa’id of this sect can commonly be found in Sufism in other countries. Even in this age of ours Aqaa’id like beseeching other than Allaah or to make Mannats in their names is famous and can commonly be found. Barailwees have taken such Aqaa’id that are full of Shirk and un-Islamic customs and have organized them and have formed themselves in a form of sect

  3. BARAILWIYYAT:- Barailwis are also Ahlussunnah Wal Jamaa'ah and they too follow the Hanafi School of thought. This group is connected to an institution in a place called Barailee. There respected Alim is Moulana Ahmad Radaa Khan Sahib.

He also opposed some innovations but practically took part in them. He did not play a big role in trying to eradicate the

innovations; rather, he merely claimed to have love for Allah and Nabi (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) and the pious saints. He went so deep in this that he finally uttered such things which were not permissible and were against the Islamic believes e.g. Nabi (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) is the

knower of the unseen and he is Mukhtar'e Kul (he had the authority and rights to do what ever he desired) , He use to present himself at the graves of the pious saints and take vows on there names and so on.

When the Ulama of Deoband stood up against them in these matters, the Barailwees labelled them as the enemies of Allah and his Nabi (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam), and

sometimes labelled them as the "WAHABEES".

See the 2nd paragraph to were they think different.

There are also people who claim that  Khan was an agent of the Brits.

Below there is a link to a rather large article that will explain thier beliefs and how the diviate in much detail.

    Inshallah this will help you!

  4. the followers of syed ahmed barelvi...bareli is a town in india

they are sunnis, and follow hadith,,they call syed ahmed barelvi as a Mujadid, and a great scholar

Imam Ahmed Raza Khan (radi Allahu anhu) was born on a Monday, the 10th of Shawaal 1272 A.H. (14th June 1856), at the time of Zohar Salaah in a place called Jasoli, which is in the city of Bareilly Shareef, India.

A few days before the birth of Imam Ahmed Raza Khan (radi Allahu anhu), his father, Allamah Mawlana Naqi Ali Khan (radi Allahu anhu), had a wonderful dream. He immediately disclosed this dream to his father, Allamah Mawlana Raza Ali Khan (radi Allahu anhu), who interpreted this dream by saying: "This is a sign that you are going to be the father of a child, a boy, who will grow up to be pious and knowledgable. His name will gain prominence from East to West."

This was the good news that was given to Allamah Mawlana Naqi Ali Khan (radi Allahu anhu) concerning the birth of none other than the "emerald from amongst the Treasures of Almighty Allah", the "sweet-scented rose from the fragrant garden of the Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam)", Imam Ahmed Raza Khan (radi Allahu anhu).

the above is cut and paste

  5. There is a very old Islamic school in a city named Brail or

Brailiya in  India where Imams were trained for Masajids.  Most Masajids in India and Pakistan are lead by the Imams trained by the Brailvi School of Thougt. After Pakistani came into existence,  few more schools on the lines of Brailvi School of Thoughts started training Imams in Pakistan.  Therefore today over 65 % of Masajid in India and Pakistan are in controlled  of Brelvi Imams.

    Their Beliefs:

There are few major differences in their beliefs  that other

schools of Thoughts not only dissagree but  call  Brailvis

misguided, derailed and even called people who commit Shirk -  making partner with Allah.   Because they believe that Prophet Mohammad was made of pure Noor of Allah, and his body didn't make shade  when he walked.  They think light was always emitting  out of his body.  Most non-Brailvi scholars consider this ridiculous and utter nonsense.  There is no record in ahadiths any where that his body didn't make shade or light was coming out of Prophet's  body.

Secondly  they believe and stress a lot on reciting Salam

directly to Prophet Mohammad  saying Ya Rasool Salam alaika  talking directly to him as if he can hear.  They say when we recite Salam, Prophet's  soul comes there to listen us, thereofre they stand up to show him respect.  They do this at the end of  every  salat using loud speaker.  Also

Moazzan of these Masajids recites Salam first on loud speaker and then says the Azaan five times a day.

Because of time difference salat time differes in every city and every country depending on where it is located  and

salam is being recited some where all over the world at the same time.  One can question,  is Prophet's soul  is like Allah, that it can be in every Masjlis in entire world at the same time. Only Allah can be present every where at the same time.  In this sense most scholars of other sects say that  Brailvis  are comitting shirk  by making Prophet SAW equal to Allah Naoozo Billah.

They constantly emphasize on reciting Salam to Prophet and belive reciting Salam to Prophet will  obligate Prophet Mohammad to have us forgiven our sins and reciting this salam for Prophet will get us in Jannah.  I  have never seen them emphasizing on the zikr of Allah.  This is another serious problem.

Allah says in Quran, that Allah and his Angels say Salam to Prophet SAW, so  O Momineen you also say salam to Prophet  and Prophet taught Momins how to say salam in

Arabic  which we do in every second and fourth rakat when we are in sitting position in our every salat.  This salam is not recited directly to Prophet  but through Allah SWT.  We always recite   Allahumma Salle Ala Mohammadin We ala ale Mohammaun Kama Salayta ala Ibrahim wa ala ale Ibrahim innaka  Hamidun Majeed............................

We all Muslims of all sects say this Salam during our prayers through Allah.  But Brevlis  additionally say salam all the times to Prophet directly to Rasool   which in the views of many is act of comitting Shirk.

Opponents of Brelvis is a School of thought in India known as DevBandi in the city of DevBand.  They don't  recite this direct Salam to Rasoolallah  except what Prophet taught us to recite in our second and fourth Rakah of salat.  There exists enimosity in both these schools of thoughts.  Their Imams have called each other Kafirs Naoozo Billah  on loud speakers of Masjids because  Masajids of  both groups exists in same cities in India and Pakistan   though DeveBandi Masajids are lot less but they are also strong in their belief  and think we should not commit this shirk.

When I was in Pakistan,  I grew up going to Brelvi Masjid in my neighborhood. Before 1970  they never recited Salam after every Salat nor did they recite salam to Prophet  on loudspeaker of Masjid  before every Azaan.  I came to USA in 1970 and went back to Pakistan in 1978  and saw this big change that shocked me  because in eight years I did not see salam being recited in anu masjid of any sect in USA.  So this development happend thirty years ago  some time in mid seventies.  Most Arabs of all countries don't practice this and I  prayed mostly in Arab and Pakistani mix masajids in USA for last 38 years.  This direct salam to Prophet is not sung for Prophet in standing position  any where in USA nor in Saudi Arabia  where I went to work for Saudi government Hospital during 1983-85.

Brelvis also tell every child and adult to perform two Nafl at the end of every Salat  except Fajr and Asr. They never say it is optional.   They taught me to persom 17 rakahs in Isha.

I was memorizing Quran at age 6 and 7  and often I fell sleep during Isha Salat  and my father had to pick me up and laid me on bed.

These are  few but very major differences.  I hope I have explained well.

May Allah forgive our sins and show us the right path of Islam.
