Genuine??

"I have said before and I will repeat again, I think people's families are off limits,""People's children are especially off limits. This shouldn't be part of our politics. It has no relevance to Gov. Palin's performance as a governor or her potential performance as a vice president. So I would strongly urge people to back off these kinds of stories."

He continued, "You know, my mother had me when she was 18. How family deals with issues and teenage children, that shouldn't be the topic of our politics. I hope that anybody who's supported me understands that's off limits."

Or a liar..

""There is no evidence at all that any of this involved us. I'm hope I'm as clear as I can be. In case I'm not, let me repeat: We don't go after people's families. We don't get them involved in politics. It's not appropriate and it's not relevant. Our people were not involved in any way in this and they will not be. If I ever thought that it was somebody in my campaign who's involved in something like that, they'd be fired.""

What do you think....Genuine? lie? or mix of both?

  1. Unless otherwise proven, I'll take Obama at his word on this one.  His heritage is not exactly something the Daughters of the American Revolution will jump through hoops about, but the man is intelligent, articulate, and inspiring.

  2. Obama has made it pretty d**n clear that the candidate's families are off limits and that he would fire anyone in his campaign that went after the other candidates' families.  What more do you want him to say?

  3. This is a damned if he does , damned if he doesn't.

If Obama said nothing or said that it was open season, then he would be attacked for attacking her daughter.

If he did what he did, saying family is off-limits, the he is attacked for being disingenuous.

He took the high road, what more does anyone want?

  4. Just trying to appear nice, but she deserves all the h**l she gets.  I hate tinfoilers.  The Alaska Independence Party is a kissing cousin of the Northern Idaho nutjobs.  Anyone who supports that sort of stupidity  should build a shrine to Timothy McVeigh.  Why can't GOPers break the habit of coddling crackpots?

  5. Gee. I am a conservative who follow politics almost religiously and even though I was a big mitt romney supporter, I did hear Obama a few months ago talking about "families being off limits". It is one thing he has been consistent with, but this is America where certain people do not fit the profile of ever being truthful. May the best candidate win.

  6. I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

    Vote: Genuine

  7. He is just trying to keep his loonies in line.
