Baran Bally Hi dominates Sittingbourne Hurdle Round 1
Baran Bally Hi, D. Knight’s black dog, demonstrated a splendid show to establish his supremacy in the Sittingbourne Hurdle - Heat 2, held at Sittingbourne on Sunday, July 8th. The dashing hound attained a handsome lead soon after the start and
retained his advantage till the winning post.
As a result of a superb act, he secured the first position by a couple of lengths. The son of Tyrur Ted made a fantastic start and put the opposition under a lot of pressure after coming out of the sixth trap.
It was never an easy outing, but the 1-2 favourite did well to perform to his high reputation. He stopped the clock in 29.34 seconds, recording the fastest time in the first round of the Sittingbourne Hurdle.
Roses Rockin ran well to keep himself prominent all the way through, but it was almost an impossible task for him to catch the champion. Consequently, he could only seize the runner-up spot. Although he failed to create any mess for the leading runner, he
did a fantastic job to grab the second spot by six and a half lengths.
Full House was probably the unluckiest hound in the race. The white and blue dog had every chance of claiming the victory, but failed terribly. G. Andreas’ charge ended up third on the table.
Earlier in the day, Billis Renegade demonstrated a flawless show in the first heat of the competition. The audience saw him leading the race from pillar to post, giving his rivals no chance whatsoever.
Luck was also on his side, as he bagged the gold medal by a neck’s distance. After starting the affair from the blue box, the fawn dog covered the distance in 29.64 seconds. Crofter challenged J. Foster’s trainee in the final moments, but since luck twisted
against his favour, he narrowly missed the glory.
Druids Gaffney was the third one to make it the next round. The blue and brindle dog stunned everyone by beating the likes of Clonkeen Theo and Any Questions, who were carrying a lot higher starting price.
Billis Renegade undoubtedly ran superbly, but Baran Bally Hi seems to have the best chance of winning the final round of the Sittingbourne Hurdle.
