  1. I'm supportive of the Military.  You hardly ever see/hear from them but they are there to help keep living good on the island and help rid the island of trouble makers that move to Barbados to bring about unrest and crime waves...

The Military in Barbados is the Barbados Defence Force. (The Military though may also be supported by the Royal Barbados Police Force (RBPF) and the Barbados Coast Guard if need be....)

They are administered out of the Barbados Prime Minister's office who is the head of national defence....

The BDF can also seek the assistance of the Regional Security System (RSS) which is made up of Barbados and the other independent former British territories in the Eastern Caribbean....  If that fails, the Barbados government can still seek the intervention of the British military to bring in the really big guns if it comes to that.....

The Barbados Military general does drug interdiction and makes sure occasional protests remain peaceful.  When the prisoners in Barbados held a riot a few years back and they set fire to the prison the BDF was called in to move the prisoners to other multiple holding facilities around the island.

A few years back when the Bush Administration put Barbados and a bunch of other military around the world under economic sanctions because Barbados wouldn't grant Bush immunity from the International Criminal Court (ICC) the Barbados military switched it's funding to mainland China and the EU so it has stopped seeking much of it's financial backing from the United States....
