I need a good recipe for some BBQ sauce to go with ribs. I'd prefer something that is easy to make large quantities of.

  1. Spiced Maple-Apple Grill Sauce

    1 tablespoon vegetable oil

    1/2 cup finely chopped onion

    1 clove garlic, minced

    1 1/4 cups ketchup

    2/3 cup maple syrup

    1/4 cup water

    3 tablespoons lemon juice

    3 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

    1/3 cup applesauce

    1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

    pinch ground allspice

1/4 teaspoon ground chipotle chile powder

Heat oil over medium heat in a skillet or medium saucepan; add onion and cook, stirring, for about 2 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute longer. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a simmer. Lower heat to medium-low and simmer, uncovered, for 4 to 5 minutes.

    Makes about 2 cups.

  2. I have had a lot of luck with the following recipe, though it involves stewing the ribs for the bulk of their cooking time, and finishing them on the grill.

Dry rub the ribs using a brown sugar base (I use brown sugar, cayenne, black pepper, kosher salt, cumin, paprika, and dark red chile powder - again, the vast majority of the rub should be brown sugar.) Reserve any leftover rub. Let the ribs rest overnight in the fridge.

The next morning, prepare an appropriate number of tin baking pans - large enough to comfortably hold the ribs. Fill them with the following:

    V8 Strawberry-Kiwi Splash

    Lemon and Lime Juice

    Worchestershire sauce

    Balsamic vinegar

    Crushed red pepper

Use a whole bottle of the V8, and then add the others liberally. The bulk of the liquid should be the V8 though. Submerge the ribs, and cover the pans tightly with tin foil.

Place the ribs in the oven at 225 for 4-5 hours. Then remove them and take the ribs out with tongs.

Pour as much of the V8 liquid into a pot as you want, and bring it to a boil. Add the remaining dry rub, and season to taste - I usually add a good amount of salt, cayenne, chile powder, and citrus juices. Once it's a good flavor, thicken with corn starch.

Brush the ribs with the sauce and grill. Keep leftover sauce for dipping, putting on pork chops or sandwiches, or anything else you use BBQ sauce for.

  3. This is absolutely the best BBQ ribs sauce I have ever tried:

    1 tbsp. butter

    1 clove garlic, crushed

    1/2 c. ketchup

    1/3 c. chili sauce

    2 tbsp. brown sugar

    2 tbsp. chopped onion

    1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce

    1 tbsp. prepared mustard

    1 tsp. celery seed

    1/4 tsp. salt

Dash of bottled hot pepper sauce

    3 thin lemon slices

Cook butter and garlic 4-5 minutes. Add other ingredients. Bring to boiling.

Simmer separately for at least 15 minutes or pour over meat and marinate for 2 hours, flipping ribs after the first hour.

Throw those glorious ribs on the smoker or grill and sit back and prepare to eat the tastiest BBQ you have ever put in your mouth!

    ENJOY!

  4. 1/2 Cup of sweet paprika

1 small red chilli chopped finely or grated

    1.5-2 cups of tomato ketchup

3/4 cups of honey (or add to taste)

    1/2 tsp of salt

    1) mix together with ribs, leave overnight

    2) Grill (You may want to use some aluminum foil to maintain a nice colour. Then when its cooked through just brush on more marinade then brown it).
