Barbican likely to finish first in Sagaro Stakes
On the card of the Blue Square Levy Board Sagaro Stakes (Group 3), Barbican looks to be the strongest runner who can finish first in the high-voltage race that will take place at Kempton racecourse on Wednesday, May 2. The action is scheduled to start at
3:45 (GMT).
In the Class 1 contest over a distance of 2 miles, the Alan Bailey-trained bay gelding will face 5 worthy rivals such as Electrolyser, Red Cadeaux, Colour Vision, Solar Sky and Thimaar. A prize cheque of £22,684 is ready for the supposed winner.
Barbican possesses an outstanding success ratio along with a terrific track record. The four-year-old veteran horse marvellously won the first two races of his career after making debut on February 25, 2011.
Being a 9-4 favourite, he gained a runner-up rank on May 1. The maverick sprinter went ahead to accomplish a fabulous hat-trick during August-September.
The talented gelding again ran with a favourite tag on November 30 and finished first superbly. He grabbed 7th position against 11 competitors in his last outing on March 31, 2012.
As a whole, the son of Hurricane Run out of The Faraway Tree has won 6 out of his total 11 starts so far, earning £161,495 as prize money.
Barbican is likely to make a big impact in the Stakes, having up to 95 percent chances to finish first.
However, Thimaar can trigger an upset as the John Gosden-trained bay and brown gelding is on the verge of a hat-trick at the moment. The talented horse nicely won a race each on September 30, 2011 and April 7, 2012. Overall, he has 3 triumphs to his name.
In order to pave his way towards victory convincingly, Barbican will have to demonstrate a rock-solid run.
Red Cadeaux is also likely to do well in the race. The 25-race veteran trainee of Ed Dunlop has 5 triumphs to his name. The gelding finished 2nd and 3rd in his last two races during November-December 2011.
The race is going to be greatly thrilling and awe-inspiring. Let us enjoy a splendid action at Kempton. Good luck to all the runners.
