The Spanish international appeared disgruntled at his side’s elimination from the Champions League and has stressed that the Catalans deserved better.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604’s Andres Iniesta has taken out time to express that the Spanish giants were not worthy of being knocked out of the Europe at the hands of Chelsea. He stressed that the football demonstrated by Barca was beautiful and deserved far better than the
final result they had to bear with.
Pep Guardiola’s men locked horns with English Premier League side, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, at the Nou Camp this past Tuesday in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final. The match that took place at the Catalan capital saw La Blaugrana being knocked-out of the
prestigious European competition.
The match produced a thrilling encounter and was interesting to watch as it ended with a final score of 2-2.
Chelsea, having won the first leg with a score of 1-0, booked a place in the final of the Champions League as they defeated the Catalans on an aggregate of 3-2.
Although Barca played their usual style of attacking football on Tuesday, they could not manage to take the game to the English side. It appears to be a case of sour grapes as Iniesta called the result of the match to be ‘unjust’.
Despite creating number of chances in front of goal, Pep Guardiola’s men were unable to find a way around Chelsea’s resilience. The Blues, on the other hand, were stuck on to their defensive style of play, and managed to find the back of the net as many
times as the hosts.
Iniesta has argued that the fact that the current UEFA Champions League title holders are eliminated is not justified.
According to Barcelona’s official website, the midfielder was quoted as saying:
"Football has been unjust in this tie. That's just the way it is. We once again dominated the match, but little things can be decisive in football. Barcelona will be back, though. We play football because we love what we do, and we do it for those who always
support us and suffer as much as we do."
After their hopes for European glory suffered a major blow in midweek, the Catalans will return to La Liga action on Sunday as they are set to face Rayo Vallecano.
