Barcelona, Spain currency conversion?

Going to Barcelona, Spain for cruise to italy. need to convert usd to euros. I would rather not do at airport since I heard banks give better rate. we are staying near Las Ramblas and it would be on a Friday. Please advise where to go in this area?

Please only go to the bank or change it in your hotel, there are alot of small exchange places in Spain, and I don't know anyone who has not been ripped off by them. I don't specifically know where in Las Ramblas but I have lived in Spain 16 years.

Withdraw Euros directly from an ATM in Spain.  You'll get a better rate.  Some credit cards, like AMEX give the best rates when you make purchases

You have loads of banks in las Ramblas and they all offer Change.  Remember that they only open mornings more or less from 8.30 to 14.
