Being one the best teams in Europe, the Catalans boast a plethora of talents in their squad and the competition for a berth in the starting eleven was tough. The likes of Andres Iniesta, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Villa-c10629 plying their trade with the club made
it difficult for Jeffren to take part in games and he had to sit on the bench more often than he took to the pitch.
After making only 13 appearances last season, the Spanish International engineered a switch to Jose Alvalade with the sole aim of playing in as many matches as possible at the club. The Lions also showed their willingness to hire the highly-rated striker
and quickly offered him a five-year contract to secure his services.
His father, Efren Suarez, also confirmed that a transfer to the Portuguese giants was being negotiated and said that his son would be travelling to Lisbon shortly in order to complete the move.
"Let us handle everything tomorrow [today] morning. We are hoping that this happens but we just do not know the hours. Anyway, once everything is settled we can travel to Lisbon and we hope that this will happen tomorrow [today].” He said.
Suarez also revealed that initially a loan deal was in the works but Jeffren was keen to win to play for trophies on a regular basis and opted to make a permanent switch to the Portuguese outfit.
"The loan was envisaged a situation but the transfer will be the definitive,” the agent concluded.
With the negotiations drawing to a close, Jeffren will arrive in Lisbon today to complete a medical and will officially sign for the club afterwards, where he can at last look to be an integral part of first team.
