Barcelona B’s Luis Enrique looking to manage Atletico Madrid if contacted - Segunda Division news
Barcelona B’s coach, Luis Enrique, has revealed that it would be a better option coaching Atletico Madrid from the next 2011/12 season. The manager insisted that Atletico are a bigger club and he would be served better managing a Primera Division club.
Enrique, though, confirmed that El Atleti officials haven’t really made any contact with him regarding the job. He also told that it would be difficult for him to decline the offer as it would be a pleasure for him working with the quality first division players.
Atletico Madrid are likely to part ways with their current manager, Quique Sanchez Flores, at the end of the current season in the wake of some disappointing performances. Atleti are currently seventh in the La Liga with 55 points and even a UEFA Europa League berth looks unlikely for Flores’ side.
The former Barcelona man added that there are infinite speculations when certain things happen and there is no conformity so far from Atletico. The 41-year-old added, “New candidates come out every week and it has fallen to me this time. There is no agreement or negotiation with Atletico Madrid. Atletico is a very good option, since it is a big club and it is a good opportunity to train in the first division. But I still have three games left with Barcelona B, and when the time comes, we will see.”
Enrique currently manages http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 B side in the Segunda Division and are sixth in the table with three games yet to be played. The Spaniard took over the managerial responsibilities in 2008 and has now expressed his desire to make a move to the Primera Division.

Atletico will wrap up their current 2010/11 campaign with a game against 13th placed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/May-22-c39884. A win over there could earn them a top six finish.
