Barcelona President Sandro Rosell slams Arsenal for signing Jon Toral
Barcelona President, Sandro Rosell hit out at Arsenal's decision of signing the 16-year-old teenager Jon Toral from Barcelona’s Youth academy. The 46-year-old Barca president, Rosell has not only criticized the
Arsenal conduct rather titled their decision as ‘Immoral’.
Speaking to the media, Rosell said “We don't like it when other clubs come with offers of money just before the (player's) 16th birthday. It's legal but a little immoral." He further added “It's very important to keep this group
of young lads together with grounding in our way of playing football”.
The latest media reports have revealed that the teenager Jon Miquel Toral Harper, who has spent almost four years with Barcelona’s youth club
La Masia, will join the North London club from the next Premier League season.
Although the confirmation is still to come from both clubs but it is believed that both parties have agreed upon the terms and conditions of the deal. This deal with Arsenal will earn the midfielder 35% extra of what he might have
earned if he signed the deal with the Barcelona’s youth club.
After Cesc Fabregas, Toral became another Gunner target who has been poached from the Barcelona’s
La Masia youth academy. Toral is considered as one of the most naturally gifted and talented players in the
La Masia team. Talking to a private channel, Rosell said that they have already informed the Arsenal management about their discontent over the Toral induction and the way the deal has been finalized.
Media reports suggest that some heated words were also exchanged between Rosell and the Arsenal hierarchy over the Toral issue during last week’s UEFA clash with Arsenal. Both teams met each other last week at the Emirates stadium
in the first leg of UEFA Champions League last-16-round match, where Arsenal registered a 2-1 victory over the Catalan giants, Barcelona.
Quite interestingly, Cesc Fabregas was also 16 years old when he was recruited into the Arsenal team from the same http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38605 youth-school in September 2003.
Some of the latest media reports claim that Barca coach Pep Guardiola’s brother, Pere Guardiola has played the intermediary role and brokered the deal between the two parties (Arsenal and Toral).
Cesc Fabregas is considered to be on the most wanted list of Barcelona for the upcoming summer’s transfer window season. Asked about the chances of Fabregas' return to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011, Rosell said the decision was up to the coach, and if
the Barcelona coach desired a player, he would try his best to get him into the team.
