http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 – Probably line-up season 2011/2012 (Part 1)
The Spanish Champions have made one signing in this summer transfer window and with no defenders being signed in there will barely be any changes in the Josep Guardiola’s favourite 11.
The Catalan Giants won the Spanish La Liga and the UEFA Champions League last season. Josep Guardiola relied too much on his favourite players and he rarely made changes in order to win important game. This is the reason why Barcelona are going to be the
same the next season.
Josep Guardiola usually changes the front three every other season. However, with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Villa-c10629 and Pedro Rodriguez working together, Josep Guardiola will not be making a lot of changes in the starting line-up.
In the 2010/2011 season, Barcelona had to rearrange themselves at the back after http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-c9879 Alves played in the
right back position while http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Adriano-c3773.
Substitutions were the basic problems for Barcelona last season, Afellay allowed Josep Guardiola to change David Villa or http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alexis-Sánchez-c4979 is going to do just the same.
On the other hand, Xavi Hernandez and Andres Iniesta were usually substituted by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thiago-c34888 Alcantara is going to take their position. Moreover, in case Cesc Fabregas joins Barcelona, a natural replacement for Xavi Hernandez will
be on the bench. Andres Iniesta can be replaced with Thiago Alcantara who is naturally gifted with outstanding dribbling and passing skills.
Lionel Messi has played a lot of games last season and Josep Guardiola would want to keep his favourite player fully fit. Alexis Sanchez might replace Lionel Messi more often and Sanchez will shift to the left flank with David Villa playing in the centre
forward role. Pedro Rodriguez and Sanchez can keep shifting flanks in order to confuse the opposition.
Curiously enough, Barcelona did not buy a single defender in the summer transfer window. Moreover, the Catalans have not even shown interest in any defender throughout the summers. Carles Puyol is recovering from his knee injury while the young Andreu Fontas
has been promoted to the first team.
Last season, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-Busquets-c33048 often partnered up with Gerard Pique in the centre back role. Carles Puyol was rarely seen in the first team. With Eric Abidal playing in the centre back position, Adriano and Maxwell took care
of the left back role. Daniel Alves kept playing in his favourite right wing back position; however, Montoya and Adriano tried to fill the gap up whenever Alves was not present in the first team.
The Barcelona defence was quite vulnerable without Carles Puyol but they still managed to pass their way through to the UEFA Champions League final and eventually won it even with Javier Mascherano playing in the centre back position throughout the game.
