La Blaugrana will take on the challenge of cross town rivals Espanyol in the regional friendly competition after refusing to fulfil their obligations earlier.
The question of Supercopa Catalunya was finally resolved with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 budging from their stance. The Camp Nou based outfit did not want to play the pre-season match against Espanyol before the start of Spanish top flight football campaign to reduce the
risk of injuries.

La Blaugrana were blasted in all corners of the press for refusing to fulfil their obligations, especially after Espanyol have moulded their fixtures to adjust to guarantee their participation.
Barcelona put to rest Espanyol CEO, Joan Collet, accusations on them for showing "lack of respect" as they admitted to playing the friendly fixture at a later date than was previously agreed upon.
The match will now go ahead on September 26, moving from the established date of July 31 for the preseason friendly competition held by the Catalan Football Federation.
An official statement on Barcelona’s website read that La Blaugrana have been cajoled by the Catalan Football Federation at playing the fixture at a later date after keeping the interest of Catalan football and Catalan sports in mind.
It added that the Camp Nou based outfit have always been the forerunner in Catalan empowerment, while also adding the large amount of administrative problems they have on their hands at adding another friendly fixture on their schedule.
