Barcelona and Arsenal among 6 teams revealed for the FIFA 12 demo
Electronic Arts is getting ever closer to the release date of the next iteration to the world’s best selling franchise as FIFA 12 is due by the end of the month. The football simulation game has taken over the role as the king of football simulation games
over the past few years, knocking its bitter rival, Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer, right off its perch.
However, in an effort to convince fans that this year’s FIFA game will be an improvement and different experience from the previous FIFA game, publishers are to release demos for the game. So far, EA have confirmed that there will be six teams available
for players to choose from in the demo.
AC Milan has appeared on a regular basis in the demo and it seems Zlatan Ibrahimovic and his side can be given a test run before the release. It is the only Italian side in the demo, while gamers can play as Arsenal as well.
However, the Gunners are not the only English team on the demo, as Manchester City look to impress with the extra attention given to them by developers after the deal between the club and EA Sports.
Adding some Spanish flair and given all the band wagon jumpers a chance to feel good about themselves, Barcelona is also in the line. Christiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid must be furious, but they will have to wait for the game’s release until they get to
play with themselves (no pun intended).
Borussia Dortmund’s inclusion may raise a few eyebrows but the club are there and will be looking to make a few fans before the FIFA 12 season officially begins. Last but not the least, is some French passion with Olympique Marseille marking their territory
in the demo.
The tweet which revealed the news was by EASPORTSFIFA and it read, “The FIFA 12 demo teams are: AC Milan, Arsenal, Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund, Marseille and Manchester City.”
While there are a few disappointments, especially for Manchester United fans and Real Madrid faithful, the demo is there to appeal to a wider demographic and convince those who have doubts about the game to buy it when it does release on the September 28.
The demo goes live later today on the PlayStation 3, the Xbox 360 and PCs and should give fans as well as newcomers a decent taste on what to expect from FIFA 12.
