http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AZ-c38571 Alkmaar head coach, Gertjan Verbeek, has denied speculations that Barcelona are scouting the youngster, Adam Maher.
The 18-year-old has remained heavily linked with the Catalan giants in the Spanish and Dutch media, following his impressive performances thus far this season.
Maher, who plays mostly at the right midfield position, started his professional career in the 2010/11 season. The young midfielder made rapid development in his game and has now developed into one of the hottest prospects in the league of uprising stars.
The AZ starlet has thus far featured in 12 matches for the outfit from Alkmaar this season, managing to hit the back of the net twice while providing three assists as well.
Following his phenomenal performances, rumours started to develop in the Spanish and Dutch media that Barca are keenly observing the 18-year-old’s development.
However, Verbeek has now made it clear that there is no reality in all these rumours.
“Fortunately for Maher, he is playing well and attracting interest. He is here for two seasons. If he stays here for few more seasons, he would then certainly make his dream move easily”, AZ boss said while talking to the media.
