Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola rates Paul Scholes as the best midfielder of his generation
Barcelona’s coach, Pep Guardiola, has tipped http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-Scholes-c29394 as the best midfielder of his generation and expressed that it would have been a dream from him to play alongside the English midfielder.
Pep Guardiola, who was also a midfielder at Barcelona, have played against Scholes in the European clashes and the Barcelona boss was highly impressed by Scholes’ game and rated the Red Devils’ midfielder as the best of his generation.
Pep Guardiola said in a press conference, “Out of everyone at Manchester United, I would pick out Scholes – he is the best midfielder of his generation. I would have loved to have played alongside him".
Scholes is considered as one of the most decorated footballer in the Premier League history and is also one of the rare players who have scored in all League seasons which they have played.
Scholes is expected to start against Barcelona at Wembley.
Barcelona and Manchester United will lock horns in the UEFA Champions League Final at the Wembley Stadium, which will also be a rematch of the 2009 Rome Champions League final which Pep Guardiola’s men won by 2-0.
Pep Guardiola hailed Manchester United’s unfathomable qualities and claimed that there is no favourite in the UEFA Champions League Final at Wembley.
Pep Guardiola labelled United as a great team and insisted that the Red Devils will have a physiological advantage over Barcelona.
Guardiola added, “Manchester United are a fantastic rival, but they have an advantage because two years ago they lost to us – winning [games like that] can confuse you. You can’t be favourites in a final against Manchester United anyway – they are a great
team. I admire them. They sold Cristiano [Ronaldo] and they are still winning”.
Both teams, Manchester United and Barcelona, have already won their respective League titles.
Manchester United was crowned English Champions for the record 19th time, whereas Barcelona won the La Liga Spanish League title for the 21st time.
Furthermore, both clubs have won the UEFA Champions League three times and a win at Wembley for any of the team will put them beside the greatest clubs of Europe which has won the European Cup more than three times.
