Barcelona coach Josep Guardiola after 1-1 draw with Copenhagen – “I am satisfied”
Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola gave out a press conference soon after the 1-1 Champions League draw against Copenhagen. Guardiola said that he was happy how his team played in an environment where they are not used to performing.
However, he said that Copenhagen is a great team and he respects how they managed to put up a great show against the Spanish champions in their Champions League encounter. Guardiola further added on to his comments by saying that the match was simply great
and the atmosphere was “tremendous.”
The Spanish coach said that he was expecting a tough game against the Danish Champions and he said that they did prove to be a “difficult challenge” to overcome, as the match came out as a draw. However, the Barcelona tactician
was very happy with the point gained from the encounter and said that he believed his team performed to a high standard. He said that the team that they were facing were really hard to beat, and being at their home ground it was far more difficult.
“The team has performed. They are tired, and that demonstrated the type of match it was. I am very satisfied with the performance because we have played against a very good team, who are well organised, with a very good coach.
I am very happy with this game.

“We have everything to gain; the Champions League is very demanding, and we have done everything to win the match, we had control, defended well but we lacked success offensively at times. But overall I am very satisfied with the performance of the team,” he
said.
The Spanish coach also argued that his side could have easily won as they hit the posts and even though they were the close to winning three times when David Villa and Pedro both found the woodwork, he still does not blame “bad
luck” for the loss. He further added on to the team’s performance by saying that his defensive line stood up really well and even though the strikers were not very accurate, the team proved to be strong overall and they managed to draw the game.
Guardiola summarized the whole game in the end of the interview and said that his team played like champions and dominated the first half. The Spanish coach said that the first half for his side was simply extraordinary and it
was simply a “shame” that the opponents managed to equalize so quickly. He then summed up the second half by saying that the Danish Champions really put the pressure on in that half. He also accepted the fact that his side were simply “exhausted.” This comment
simply outlined the hard schedule that the Barcelona players are following. After being a part of the 2010 FIFA World Cup and also being part of the previous season and then the preseason games as well, the Spanish side’s first-team players barely got any
rest and with so many competitions coming in the way of Guardiola’s men, there is definitely no time to rest for all of these players.
He said that he liked the fact that his players were putting in all that they had and they were trying their best to win the game and even though they could not really win it, he simply enjoyed how the game turned out and how it
was open till it ended. In the end, he summed it all up by saying that the atmosphere in the stadium was simply outstanding and he loved to be a part of it.
