Barcelona defender Gerard Pique claims that Manchester United made him a man
Barcelona defender and Spanish World Cup winner, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gerard-c14664 Pique has gone on to admit that the time he spent at Manchester United helped make him a man. The player has come forth and made these comments, only days before Barcelona and United face off against
each other, in the finals of the UEFA Champions League.
Prior to joining United, Pique spent four years at Old Trafford, where he learnt most of his traits and the physical style of play that he has become well reputed for. However, despite Pique being as good as he is, he was never a first choice at Old Trafford
and that ultimately led to his departure from the club.
When talking about the time he spent at United, Pique is reported to have said: "When I arrived in Manchester, the club put me with a family"

"After a few days I had an idea of what was in store for me: cakes or fish and chips.

"Once they served up this warm lemon cake - disgusting. Still, I never regretted my choice because my time in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 made a man of me.

"It was another way of playing, more direct and physical. I learned how to use my body to defend with because players often came through you from behind.

"I then worked out like never before and put on nine kilos in muscle."
Pique failed to appear in the Champions League final against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, when he was employed with United. However, the player had a little retribution at the Red Devils for shutting him out, by coming back the next season and beating United, as part of the
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 squad.
Pique, who has gone to admit to having loads of respect for both Pep Guardiola and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson, then went on to state how both the managers were fairly similar in their managing styles and the player is reported to have said: “They both have the ability
to motivate sides, although Guardiola speaks more calmly while Ferguson will try to harangue his troops.”
From the looks of things, perhaps Pique is starting to get a little too anxious about his upcoming encounter, with his former club. Pique, having played with the team, is more than aware of what the team can do, when the odds are stacked against them.
As a result, it seems like he is trying to remember the highs he had with the club, in order to avoid the lows the he might soon face.
