At present, the Catalan club are sitting at the top of La Liga standings and lead second placed Real Madrid by eight points, furthermore, they face the Los Blancos in the Copa del Rey final and meet the same club in a semi-final of the UEFA Champions League.
Barcelona recorded an emphatic 6-1 aggregate victory over Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk, on the other Real Madrid were impressive as well, they convincingly defeated English team Tottenham Hotspur 5-0 on aggregate.
Many pundits believe that Barcelona are one of the best teams in the world and Pique remains confident of his side’s chances as they battle Real Madrid on three fronts. However, the Spaniard claims it will be hard to repeat their heroics of 2008.
Pique said while speaking to reporters, “We have faith. We can win the treble, We know it will be difficult, we have done it just once before in our history, but now we can do it again.”
“The situation is very good in the league as we are eight points clear, we are in the final of the Copa, and the Champions League semi-finals, but still there are many important games that we have to play for the titles,” added the defender.
The player further stated that his team need to remain focused and take each game step by step and be consistent on the pitch.
Barcelona can certainly take heart from their outstanding 5-0 triumph against Real Madrid in a Spanish La Liga fixture earlier in the season.
