In a recent press conference, the 61-year-old tactician stated that Villa remains large in his plans for the European championships and revealed that he is willing to wait for the 2010 FIFA World Cup winner until May 27, when he decides on his final 23.
La Roja coach received good news from Catalunya as Ricard Pruna believes that the prolific striker is close to making a comeback. However, he ruled out Villa from Barcelona’s Copa del Rey final against Athletic Bilbao at the Vicente Calderon.

"Villa is doing ball work and recovery exercises," Pruna said. "We have to wait two more weeks, but what is clear is that he will miss the Copa del Rey final against Athletic Bilbao.”
"To be fair, he could play at the Euros. In the next few weeks we will decide if he will join up with Spain's team and whether he can play at the Euros.”
"He is absolutely not ruled out for the tournament."
As Villa nears a call-up, Pruna believes that teammate http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Carles-Puyol-c8331 will not be able to make the Euros. The practitioner claimed that the Barcelona captain needs time to recover, a commodity they are short handed at the moment.
"We think that Puyol does not have any chance to play at the Euro, based on the time he will need to recover."
Euro 2012 starts on June 8 and will culminate on July 1.
