Barcelona duo Pedro Rodriguez and Javier Mascherano warn their team against complacency
Barcelona duo, Pedro Rodriguez and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Javier-Mascherano-c18071, have warned their team against complacency in the second-leg of the semi-final of the UEFA Champions League.
Barcelona beat Real Madrid 2-0 in the first-leg of the semi-final of UEFA Champions League at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday, April, 27, 2011. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809’s brace helped the Catalan’s to take a massive advantage in the second leg at Camp Nou.
Despite having one foot in the final of the competition, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-Ramos-c33096 feels that Barcelona must stay focused for the second-leg. The Spanish winger reckons that his team were outstanding in the first-leg and it is always a big advantage of taking two-away goals in the second leg. The 23-year-old added that the Copa del Rey final defeat against Los Blancos boosted them to win the Champions League encounter.
Talking to the reporters, Pedro said, "We are 90 minutes away from the final but we must be cautious. We are in a good position but there is still another game. I'm still disappointed after the defeat in the cup final because we were fighting for all the titles. But we're in this competition [Champions League] and there are still 90 minutes left."
On the other hand, Pedro’s club team-mate, Javier Mascherano has also urged his team to be cautious of Madrid, as they will come out all guns blazing in the second-leg. The Argentinean captain has refused to accept that his side has a secured final berth at the Wembley Stadium, London.
The former Liverpool mid-fielder is delighted with the win but believes that it would not change anything for the Camp Nou encounter.
"I'm very content with the outcome from this match, but this doesn't change anything for the second leg. There is another game to be played and Real Madrid are a very strong team that will do their utmost to turn things around," said Mascherano.
The 26-year-old added that Madrid will definitely miss their defensive duo of Pepe and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-Ramos-c33096 in the second-leg and that gives the Catalans a golden chance of qualifying for their second Champions League final in as many years.
