Barcelona eye David Silva
Barcelona will make a move for David Silva if they fail in their pursuit to bring Cesc Fàbregas to the Camp Nou this summer, according to reports.
Arsenal are holding firm onto their captain, and rejected a £29million bid for the Spaniard last week. Barcelona are continuing in their attempts to sign the 23-year-old, and are confident they will get their man this summer, although they have stated they will not pay a substantial amount of money to get Fàbregas.
Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger has stated he is determined to keep hold of Fàbregas, making Barcelona’s task of winning the services of the Spaniard even more difficult.
If the La Liga champions do not land Fàbregas, they will switch their attentions to Valencia playmaker Silva.
Manchester City, Inter Milan and Juventus are in the hunt to sign Silva, but it was reported the Spaniard wanted to stay in his homeland, and had a desire to play for Barcelona. If he doesn’t get his move this summer, he is willing to stay for another season and then hold out for a move.
City believe they might have a chance of getting Silva, with Barcelona not giving up easily on signing Fàbregas.
Valencia have already sold David Villa to Barcelona, and a deal to sell another one of their key players could happen soon.
