Barcelona just one point away from qualifying for the next round
Even though the Catalan giants missed out on a chance to qualify for the next round of the UEFA Champions League, they are still at the top of their group and they still stand a chance to play in the next round. The Catalan giants
won the previous UEFA Champions League group stage game against the Danish Champions FC Copenhagen when they visited the home ground of Barcelona, the Nou Camp; however, they could not really get the three points that they needed against the Danish side when
they visited their home ground in Denmark. The Danish side pulled off a great show and showed the Spanish Champions that they have the quality to hold them down and they did as the game went out to become a thriller when Lionel Messi’s goal was later equalized
by the Brazilian midfielder Claudemir who looked to be in extra ordinary form during the match.
The Blaugrana wearing players are currently at the top position of the group despite the fact that they drew the game and they are the favourites to qualify for the next round. However, this does not come out without conditions
as Pep Guardiola’s men need one more point to qualify for the next stage and they have to face the Russian champions Rubin Kazan at the Nou Camp and last year they were the side who pulled off an upset by defeating the former European champions in their home
ground. That might be the reason why the Danish side were celebrating even though they stood second in the group stages and only managed to draw the game at their home ground. They have this “hope” of winning the game against the under performing Rubin Kazan
and the Greek champions Panathinaikos FC. Even though Guardiola’s side went out to win, they simply failed to do so as the over impressive Danish side totally ruined their plans by holding them down to a 1-1 draw even though the Catalan giants found the woodwork
twice.
The next game in the UEFA Champions League for the Catalan giants is going to be against the Greek side who were defeated 5-1 with the help of Lionel Messi who scored a brace. As Barcelona were the ones who were at their home ground
the last time, this time they are going to be travelling to Greece and it is definitely not going to be an easy match. Travelling to Greece is always a tough test; however, winning the match for the Spanish side is important because that way they can qualify
for the next round of the UEFA Champions League and that will mean that the important and “exhausted” players of Barca can be rested by the coach so that they can rest for their game against Real Madrid which is going to take place this month. The group stands
with Barcelona leading the points table as they are on top of the table with just a single point. Next round is going to change things round only if Rubin Kazan can manage to draw or win against the Danish side.

In case both the teams, Barcelona and FC Copenhagen draw the game against their opponents during the next round; both will qualify for the next round and only the last round’s performance is going to determine the position of the teams in the group. Currently
Barcelona only need a single point to qualify for the next round and with the Catalan giants going to Greece, it is definitely not going to be easy. Another team awaits Barca at their home ground. Can Barcelona pull off a win so that they can comfortably qualify
for the next round? We can only wait and find out.
