Barcelona linked with Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas, Carlo Ancelotti's future in doubt at Chelsea
Barcelona still in the hunt for Cesc Fabregas
The transfer news that seems to almost never die, has managed to resurface again after potentially having died out for good. It seems that Barcelona are once again interested in trying to secure the services of Arsenal’s captain, Cesc Fabregas.
However, it seems like Barcelona are now going to try and land the player for much less then what Arsenal have estimated his price to be, with the team looking to only offer as much as 38-million pounds for the Spanish World Cup winner. That price is 12-million
less than the minimum 50-million pounds that Wenger is demanding for Fabregas.
According to an insider at Barcelona, "We still want him and we think he still wants to come back to us. If we bid €45 million (£38million) then we will be able to sign him. Arsenal say they want to keep him but if we offer the right amount of money then
things will change. I believe it will take €45 million."
It is still too early to judge and tell whether this deal has any real substance to it, but what can be said with certainty is the fact that this transfer rumour is one that will not die out any time soon.
Barcelona do not want Wilshere
Along with those rumours, it was also believed that Pep Guardiola and Barcelona were looking to land Arsenal’s young midfield magician, Jack Wilshere. However, the Catalan team’s manager has gone on to rubbish those talks.
Wilshere did manage to land the man of the match award, when Arsenal beat Barcelona in their first-leg encounter in the Champions League, which saw almost everyone praising the player. As a result, it was also believed that perhaps Barcelona would be looking
to land the Englishman, but all of those rumours are quite substance-less.
Carlo Ancelotti to potentially get axed
Following the recent poor run of form for Chelsea, it seems like Carlo Ancelotti might soon be on his way out of the team.
Chelsea just saw their hopes of winning the FA Cup get crushed, as the team fell out of the competition following a defeat to Everton. As a result, some serious pressure was put on the shoulders of Ancelotti.
However the manager went on to state that he would under no circumstance leave the team and the only way to get rid of him, would be to sack him.
