Barcelona boss, Pep Guardiola, has stated that he wants to wrap up the Spanish La Liga title in the next clash against mid-tabled Levante. He added that winning the League with two games still to go in the season would be great for the side and it would
help greatly in the Catalan side’s preparation for the UEFA Champions League final against Manchester United at Wembley Stadium.
Barca will take on Levante at Ciudad de http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863 in their next La Liga clash and need a point to make sure they win the title this season. They are currently five points ahead of rivals Real Madrid in first place and also have a game in hand with only two
games to go until the end of the season.
Guardiola insisted that his side should try and win the match against Levante on Wednesday and ensure that they retain the League trophy for the third straight time. He admitted that he expected the league to go down to the wire at the start of the season
but it didn’t happen.
“We must try to win the most important title of the year, the league, as soon as possible. It is always difficult to win this title. Getting to this stage with a lead of eight points is unexpected. I thought we would play for the title on the last day, but
I hope it's sooner than that,” he said.
The Spaniard revealed that his team will not play for a draw. He said that Barca will give their all to try and win the game. The former Catalan also urged the side not to be complacent even though they are in a very good position to win the League.
“I think we have to win tomorrow, this is what I think. The luck is that we depend on ourselves. I would not know how to tell my players to go out and play for a draw. You have to win the point as no-one gives away anything. And the sooner we win the better,”
he concluded.
Barcelona will most certainly play for a double in the Champions League final against Manchester United at Wembley Stadium on May 28.
