Barcelona midfielder Xavi Hernandez hails current Spain side as the best ever

He said that the team has achieved everything which teams in the past have failed to.

“I think so far this is the best Spain team in history and we have achieved recognition around the world. People believe in Spanish football now that we are world and European champions, whereas before they never used to as we never won anything,” said Xavi.
The Spain international will collect his 100th cap in the Euro 2012 qualifier against Czech Republic on 25 March, 2011. The midfielder insisted that he has the strength to play some more years for the national team and is honoured to be with the
La Roja.
“I am happy for these 100 games and I feel I have the strength for plenty more. I am living an extraordinary moment with these players and I am happy to be here with Spain. I want to carry on playing for the national team for a long time,” concluded the
Barcelona playmaker.
