The Catalan tactician has expressed that his side must overcome their rivals, Real Madrid, in Saturday’s El Clasico in order to keep their title hopes alive.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 head coach, Pep Guardiola, has stressed that the importance of Saturday’s fixture is paramount for the current Spanish champions and has stated that winning is the only option available to his men.
The Catalan giants are set to play host to Jose Mourinho’s Real Madrid in their next Spanish La Liga fixture over the weekend.
Guardiola has emphasized that La Blaugrana cannot afford to take any chances against their traditional rivals and insisted that a victory on Saturday is the only way to complete their comeback in the Liga BBVA title race.
Barcelona have already pulled off a remarkable comeback in the chase for the title this season, as earlier this year they were 10 points behind Los Merengues in the Spanish Primera Division table.
However, the Catalans have managed to consistently achieve good results which, along with some slip-ups on the part of their foes, have helped them turn things around in the league standings.
The gap at the top of the table now stands at only 4 points, which leaves the title race all open for the two Spanish giants.
On an overall level, though, Los Vikingos have been comparatively better in La Liga, showing a great amount of improvement as compared to the previous season. They have been absolutely destructive against a majority of opponents inside http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011.
The Barca head coach has observed the attacking abilities of his side’s opponents for Saturday and has maintained that winning against them is difficult yet mandatory.
While talking to reporters, the 41-year-old was quoted as saying:
"Our only option is to win, we have a very small chance and we must try to take it. If it doesn’t work out we’ll have a new champion and we’ll regroup and prepare well for next season.
"It wasn’t too long ago that we were very far from the leaders. Now we’re in a luxurious position after gaining a bit of ground, frankly we had not imagined [that we’d be this close]. We have the chance to prolong the competition."
Saturday’s El Clasico is bound to be a thrilling encounter as audiences look forward to the clash of the giants.
