  1. Dude, Barcelona, hands down. But you could see both if you aren't too busy livin it up in Barcelona you lucky dog ; )

  2. Easy cheesy.  I have been to Barcelona during the holidays.  And Can highly highly highly recommend it.

Need a place to stay check out http://www.bookings.es  gives you a great map of the city and you click on the area you want.

Don't forget to get up to Montserrat Monistary that time of the year.. Amazing any time, but Christmas time is every better.

The cathedral talked about above was La Segrada Familia and was designed by Antoni Gaudi. Building was started in the late 1880's and only private money is used. Nothing from the government and nothing from religious sources.

    Amazing city

  3. Stay in Barcelona and take 3 days to visit Madrid by train.

  4. Barcelona stay in or near the Ramblas or in the Gothic Quarter just to the east. This is a good base from where you can explore the city's sights by day including Gaudi's masterpiece, the unfinished Sagrada Família Cathedral, and Parc Güell in the north. See http://www.spain4uk.co.uk/places/barcelo... for more details

  5. I've never been in Madrid so have no idea but Barcelona is wonderful.  There's a church there that is called *Church of the Friends*, I think, in English.  Amazing.  Will never be completed in our lifetime.  There are so many wonderful things there and right up from that is Loriet Del Mar, great swimming in the Med.  Anyone would love it.
