  1. Hello, Im a spanish and I live in Spain, near Valencia. Go to Barcelona!!!!!!, Valencia is a sheet

  2. if you want relax you must go to valencia (beach, good food, ...) but if you prefer a cultural travel barcelona is ok!!

  3. Just got back from and 8 day cruise on a small sailing ship and the itinerary I did, included both cities (and others) and then stayed in Barcelona for an extra 3days. Personally I preferred Barcelona, there is more sightseeing opportunities and cultural aspects to get involved in. Barcelona is bursting with lots of toursits from all over and seems to be more toursit friendly. And with its apparent Hop on/Hop off bus tours its so much easier to get around the city and see lots of. Valencia has its characters with beautiful architechture and has changed throughout the years, I believe now that Valencia has grown more, tourists are flocking to that city. But at the end of the day you will most likely find more to do/see/stay and eat in Barcelona especially if you are traveling with 2 small children.

There is also the choice to do a day or two day trip to Valencia incase you wanted to check it out if your staying in Barcelona or vice versa. Check out the local tourists offices. They have loads of information!

  4. La Coruna - still on the banks, different view - towards the future.

  5. Barcelona is a must there is loads to see and do nightlife is varied and there are plenty of places to visit ie the unfinished catherdal, camp nou if your into football human statues in las rambles , extensive underground system etc..... not expensive either good luck

  6. Barcelona, there are more "marcha" and "fiesta"

    beauty city.....amaizing!!!!

    Gaudí, Dalí.....aaahhhhh beauty art...

i have been in Valencia too, but i think that Barcelona is better.

    a spanish girl......

  7. Barcelona hands down. Valencia has improved a lot with the creation of the Ciudad de las ciencias and Copa America, but there's just no competition. Barcelona is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, very cosmopolitan and with lot's of things to do, especially if you're taking children. From Gaudí, to the beach, museums, las Ramblas, park Guell, shopping...You even have Port Aventura just an hour away, the best in Spain.

  8. Valencia is beautiful, however, there's more to do in Barcelona, and since you have a large family...more to do means less boredom...I love Valencia when I want to chill out and relax...

  9. Valencia is OK but Barcelona is one of the best cities in the world and considered by my Europeans to be the best in Europe. There is sooo much you can do there and from there you can take trips up the coast or jump a train to the mountains. The Barcelona ZOO is great if you have kids and there is the Aquarium to. There is to much to explain but go there and if you wan you can head to Valencia it is only a couple hours away.

  10. Barcelona is an absolutely beautiful city.  Only been once but it's a trip I won't forget.  Sightseeing and cultural visits wonderful.  Great shopping too.  The wonderful fountain display at the end of the night was spectacular, breathtaking and such a great atmosphere.

  11. Barcelona is a good option.. It has many things for children including, The aquarium, the Barcelona Zoo, Las Ramblas which in general is very family friendly.. Shopping, Great Restaurants, Parc Guell which is for everyone .. Near the Beach ( whenever you come if its a cooler time , you know you can always enjoy the view.) There are so many things here to enjoy as a family that I would Recommend it..

    Have fun..

  12. Barcelona for the architecture and life. However, it is Catalan city with a different feel to other parts of Spain, so if you're after a more typically 'Spanish' city go for Valencia

  13. Both cities are amazing, i guess it depends on what you want to do and how long you are staying there... maybe these websites will help you to decide!

  14. Valencia

  15. Valencia, the food is much better.

  16. Barcelona 100 %.

Valencia has the Acuariem, one of the best of the best!!!

  17. I'd stay on the coast in La Pineda, and take the bus to Barcelona which is about 40 mins away.

  18. Barcelona is amazing!!!

  19. I'm from Barcelona, so I'm a bit biased... better Barcelona, although I also know Valencia and it has improved a lot in the past few years and has also a lot of things to see and do.

  20. Barcelona is very bustling and full of tourists all the time. It is a beautiful city with some great sights but they are spread quite far apart so it might take some organising if you are going in a party of 8.

Valencia on the other hand feels more cosy and small and it is easy to centre around an area and not get lost if people want to go off and do different things. The city of arts and sciences will be great fun too for everyone and is an activity that is great for the kids.

There are lots of pedestrianised squares as well with restaurants which means you can all go out together and the children can run around without you having to worry that they will go into the road or that you will lost sight of them.

So, in conclusion, I would go to Valencia this time but don't miss out on Barcelona which you would enjoy better in a small group.

  21. definitely Valencia!!!!!!!!
