  1. Cookie seems to really know her stuff.

I was going to just say Ramblas, except to sit on the patio, there, and have a non-alcoholic drink costs 5€, which is pretty steep, though the drinks are fairly large...the tapas aren't out of line, though.  Only the drinks.  Tons of shops along the sides of the avenue, and private artists, flower booths, pet shops, etc. in the middle.  Then there are the performance artists.  It's like a show, all day long.  You must at least check it out.

Also: Corte Inglés (THE department store) at Plaça de Catalunya, on the inland end of the Ramblas, and a large mall at the Port end.  And really good seafood at the port, as well.

  2. Please, its Spain, everything is good there.

  3. Las Ramblas is the place to go. We spent the entire day there in December, and I am sure not as many things were open during the winter months, even though it was 60. Here is a good website to check out. Have fun.

  4. ramblas area, mostly on the left down side streets as you walk down. Drinks, loads places, all very expensive (12 euro for 2 pints)

  5. ITALY! Italy is definitely the best place to go! There is millions of malls and place to shop! Girl, go and shop til' you drop.

  6. Shopping areas in Barcelona are spread across the whole city and differ considerably. The world famous Las Ramblas start at Plaça Catalunya and end at Barcelona’s harbour. Enjoy the colourful atmosphere with numerous street performers, painters and cages with birds for sale. Even though known as a famous shopping street, Las Ramblas are only interesting if you are eager to buy tourist souvenirs of Barcelona or watch the artists; there are definitely more exciting areas to shop in the city.

To find famous brands like Chanel, Armani, Cartier, Miró, Mont Blanc or Zara, visit Plaça Catalunya, Passeig de Gràcia or Diagonal. All international labels can be found here.

Shopping alternatives to the big brands offer the narrow streets of El Born. Still not widely known as shopping area it is stimulating to stroll around the winding streets of the old town and discover small shops, new labels and innovative designers.

The Barrí Gotic (Gothic Area) invites you to combine shopping and culture. The Roman centre of Barcelona accommodates numerous bizarre antique shops, small bookstores and young fashion designers.

Last but not least visit El Raval if you are looking for music stores, second hand shops, or alternative clothing. The international population of this district contributes to an interesting mixture of foreign supermarkets, people from different countries and international clothes shops.

A night out in Barcelona is a long-distance race. Be sure to start slowly so that you are able to face the exuberant party-scene until the early morning. As everything else in Barcelona, also nightlife sets off a few hours later. Start your evening out in one of the numerous bars or cafes in Barcelona before going to a club. Be aware that bars generally close at 3:00 am. It also does not make any sense to go to a club in Barcelona before 12:00 pm. Or why not spend time on the beach during the evening? Enjoy the relaxed atmosphere while drinking a cold beer on the -still crowded- but much cooler beach of Barcelona during summer nights.
