Following rumours regarding his future at the Nou Camp, Barcelona star, Xavi Hernandez’s agent, has come out and responded to reports linking him with a move to Paris Saint-Germain this summer
Throughout the European sports agencies yesterday, the biggest news was of Ligue 1 giants, Paris Saint-Germain’s interest in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 FC where
he is in the form of his life.
The Spaniard has won everything that Barcelona has on offer. Reports claimed that PSG are willing to make a monstrous bid for the highly-talented midfielder come the summer transfer window.
Reports went even as far as suggesting that a golden bridge had already been created between Xavi and PSG. Xavi’s representatives even met with PSG officials according to reports which means that Carlo Ancelotti and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Leonardo-c22056 are certainly keen on signing
the World Cup winner.
However, PSG will have to make a massive bid in order to sign a player who many regard as one of the greatest midfielders of his time. Under contract at the Nou Camp until 2014, Xavi’s release clause is valuated at 80 million Euros which means that PSG would
break all recent Ligue 1 transfer records if they are able to bring Xavi to the Parc des Princes.
While talking to RMC, Xavi’s agent, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ivan-c17215 Corretja reminded everyone about the contractual position of his client.
“Xavi Hernandez is under contract until 2014 with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Barcelona-c39078 and he has no plans to leave the Catalan club,” said Corretja.
Although it is a clear message, it does not say that Xavi would outright refuse a lucrative deal that PSG could offer him.
It is therefore, unclear whether the capital club has already contacted Xavi’s representatives or not.
Since beginning his early career at La Masia, the midfielder has never really considered leaving the Catalan giants even when AC Milan were interested in him a few years ago. Like teammate http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Carles-Puyol-c8331, Xavi has been at Barcelona all his life and may consider
ending his career with the same side.
However, the midfielder might consider moving on to a new challenge especially if he is offered a lucrative deal that a club like PSG can obviously offer.
