Barcelona target and Tottenham Hotspur star Gareth Bale eyeing UEFA Champions League football
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wales-c3041 international has emerged as one of
the most sought after players.
The likes of Manchester United, AC Milan, Real Madrid, Chelsea and even Barcelona are reportedly interested in acquiring his services. When informed, Bale revealed he was flattered to be linked with the La Liga giants but did not care to pay too much attention
to the gossip columns linking him with a move away.
Bale said in an interview:
“It's always nice being linked with clubs such as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 - it's great to be linked with a team like that.
I'm enjoying my football at Spurs and I don't really take much notice of what is written about interest from other clubs.”
Bale is currently valued at £50 million by the London side and is contracted to them until the end of 2015, which means a side would have to be really interested to make such an investment. The last time a club paid that much for a player was when http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786
signed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 in the January transfer window of 2011.
The Welshman however, seems to have no interest whatsoever of parting ways with Harry Redknapp’s side. In fact, he revealed he was looking forward to working hard to ensure that his side earned a place in next years UEFA Champions League.
He revealed:
“The Champions League is obviously where I want to be playing.
We've got a great chance of qualifying this season, especially with the manager playing young players in the Europa League and giving us the freshness to play in the Premier League.”
Last season, due to poor form towards the latter half of the season, Tottenham Hotspur narrowly missed out on the Champions League spot. They did however, secure a spot in the UEFA Europa League, the second tier European competition, but Bale was hopeful
they would manage to make it to the European competition at the end of the season.
Bale continued:
“We've had a great start to the season. The main thing we want to achieve is the top four - anything above that is obviously a bonus.”
