Barcelona thinking of potential Wayne Rooney move
Barcelona’s manager, Pep Guardiola has gone on to drop some serious hints that link Manchester United’s want-away striker, Wayne Rooney with a move to the Camp Nou.
Rooney, who was once the heart and soul of the team, has gone on and stated that he no longer wishes to be a member of the Manchester United squad and is now looking to more elsewhere.
The player ever since his admitting to wanting to leave the team has been linked to a couple of teams, including the likes of Barcelona’s arch rivals, Real Madrid. However Jose Mourinho who is currently the manager of Madrid went on to suggest to the player
that he should probably decide to stay at United, since the team did make him and he owes a lot more to the team then he can imagine.
On the other hand Guardiola was reported to have said: “He is one of the greatest players in the world as there are very few players with his qualities.”
Those statements just happen to have come at the same time that the manager went to the media to express his desires to not be a part of the United squad any longer.
Rooney’s explanation for not wanting to be a part of the United side, was down to the fact that he felt the team was not inline to win any titles in the near future. If that is the case then the player would surely appreciate a move to the Spanish team.
This is because Barcelona in their recent years have gone on to win at least one trophy every year.
If the real reason for the player wanting to leave the team, really is down to the fact that he wants to win more trophies, then it is safe to say that a move to Barcelona would be the smartest option for the player.
The move will, however, be down to whether or not Barcelona can offer United the amount that they are currently estimating to receive for the player. The Spanish club is currently hoping to land the player for as much as thirty million pounds, which is by
all means a rather low price to want to get the player at. The United side would be hoping to receive around the region of fifty million for the player.
That price, however, is only going to be matched by the likes of Manchester City, who just happen to be Manchester United’s arch rivals. So looking at the current way about of things, the team just so happens to be caught in between a giant loop hole, which
consists of Rooney, United and almost every top European club out there.
Manchester United will now have to decide whether getting the right amount of money for the player is more important than their pride, because if that is the case, then they wouldn’t hesitate to let go of the player to their city rivals. However, United
by no means are a team who don’t take their pride and honour seriously, which is why most experts are tipping the player to make a move to the Camp Nou or Real Madrid instead.
Either way, no matter what the player and the club decide to do, the footballing world will never be the same again.
